How do I cite my sources APA style in a powerpoint presentation?
Q. I have a powerpoint presentation. The teacher wanted my slides to contain the citations in them. She wanted the citations APA style. How do I do that?
Asked by qwerty - Mon Apr 27 17:45:01 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Footnotes or endnotes would be hard for a powerpoint. My suggestions are to stick them right on the slide they correspond with, make an extra slide at the end, and/or print off a handout to give to the prof/anyone who is interested. But your best bet would be the first one. APA is annoying in everything except papers.

A. The key to writing in APA style is to maintain active voice. For example: Passive: "Instead of answering questions on Yahoo Answers, I should be writing my final." Active: "I should be writing my final instead of answering questions on Yahoo Answers." Some other tips: - Buy the APA manual and read the sections about language and word choice. - Read studies or papers that interest you. If you're in college you should have access to a number of databases including PsychInfo; if not, you can find studies on various websites including academic journals. Pay attention to the way the authors organize paragraphs and their sentence structure. - Remember, APA style was designed as a standard for publishing study results- it's very structured and… [cont.]

A. Electronic Source Citations For in text web citations, follow the author/year format, if the author and date are available. For quotations, give page numbers or paragraph numbers (where there are no page numbers). Use either P or para. as an abbreviation for paragraph. If page or paragraph numbers are not available, they can be omitted from the in-text citation.
